There are issues that are really quite clear, and people are on the wrong side of the fence. They need to be told. Sometimes, the only way is to be explicit about it. You say that this is an untrue statement, but it isn't always. Example: Random posters post about non consensual kink on here, and are not well met as a result. That, to me, is a correct reaction. The reason? Because this is a community moderated forum, and most people on here agree that those sorts of things don't belong. Consequently, those people get driven away from here. I imagine that munch groups would operate similarly to a degree. Keeping out things that are not only illegal but unethical in nature (and the people that engage in them) is appropriate in my view. People who are inclined in these sorts of ways are not the type of people I would socialize with. Maybe that's limiting, but I think it's a good idea moderately used. I personally draw my line at non consensual and illegal things (bestiality/pedophilia/necrophilia/etc). All other things that are done with consenting partners are and should continue to be welcome in a place like this, for the purpose of discussion and discourse. Trolls attempt to be provocative with statements/stories/etc that they think cause a stir. People who just randomly insult others, or hijack interesting discussions to alleviate their own boredom. Certainly everyone here is guilty of poking at a troll at least once during their time here, and to say otherwise is laughably false. That still doesn't make it right, but it's the truth. My belief is that anyone who's lurked around this community enough catch on to what does and does not cause conflicts. Their posts, the language used and their follow up posts to inquiries are their responsibility. However, if others disagree vehemently with one another that doesn't necessarily make a lurker a troll. But the virtual hackles go up when people who normally interact without torsion start sniping at one another. Which is only part of it. People's day to day lives can really play a part in this. So who's the troll? The answer is that we all are the troll at one point or another.
